Benoa Water Sports

Parasailing, banana boats, jet skis and the Turtle Island trip — Bali's water-fun hub in a calm lagoon.

From Rp 150,000 per rideHalf a day

Tanjung Benoa, the peninsula next to Nusa Dua, concentrates all of Bali's motorised beach fun: parasailing over the lagoon, jet skis, banana and donut rides, flyboarding, water skiing and boat trips to Turtle Island with its turtle farm. The lagoon is reef-sheltered and flat — which is exactly why the engines live here and not on the surf beaches.

The beach price list is the starting point for bargaining: buying two or three activities, expect 20–40% off — or book online in advance, usually cheaper still. Reference prices: banana boat about Rp 150,000, parasailing Rp 250,000–350,000 a round, jet ski about Rp 400,000 for 15 minutes. Activities depend on the tide — at strong low tide the lagoon empties and rides shift to high-water hours, so confirm the schedule the day before. Mornings mean glassier water and fewer people.

Tips

  • •Arrive by 9–10 a.m. for flat water, free instructors and soft light
  • •Bargain for a bundle of several rides — the discount is real
  • •Life jackets come in kids' sizes; the banana boat works from about age 5–7
