Giant swings over gorges and rice terraces are a genre Bali invented. The swing parks cluster around Ubud and Tegallalang: several swings of different heights (10–20 metres and more above the slope), photo nests, viewpoints and jungle panoramas. A safety harness is mandatory and included everywhere.
Two formats exist: big parks selling an all-swings-plus-photo-zones package for Rp 300,000–500,000, and single swings at cafes or terraces where one flight costs Rp 150,000–200,000. If photos are the goal, pick a park — assistants know the angles and help with shots, and flowing dresses are available to rent. Come for morning light; after rain the seats are wet and the backdrop is fog. Weight and age limits apply, and kids swing with a smaller arc.
Tips
- •Rent the flowing dress at the park — the choice is big and the photos earn it
- •Before 10 a.m.: softer light, no queues, no heat
- •Hand your phone to the assistant or clip it — nothing is retrievable from the gorge
